What; A relaxed day and a half hanging with Jim, Jacob and a small group of attendees. Jim comes from a background of running workshops, so this isn’t a whole lot of lecturing, but a true workshop in every sense of the word. It will be a two way interactive experience, expect to share your knowledge, strengths and weaknesses with the group and probably find yourself out of your comfort zone in a friendly and supportive environment. Jim will of course happily share his own story and how it has influenced what he and his wife Vicky, do and love. Plus all the nuts and bolts that make their Wedding Photography business succeed, including sales and marketing, workflow and editing, equipment choices, and attracting the right couples/weddings for you.
Why; In a world full of Wedding Workshops why choose this one? For starters Jim and Vicky have been in business for a relatively short time, just 3 1/2 years. In that timeframe they’ve rapidly become globally renowned for their beautiful wedding imagery; emotive and breathtaking hero shots and those all important candid moments. They’ve won a few international awards here and there, spoken at conferences, judged international photography competitions and in 2015 the international wedding industry nominated them as one of Rangefinder Magazine’s Top 30 Risings Stars, which is all very nice. But most importantly Jim and Vicky also come from a background of training, on mountains nonetheless, so they know a thing or two about leading clinics and workshops. Jim’s an educator by trade not just a dude who takes pretty pictures and wants a nice holiday in the Rockies.
And this Loafman fella? This guy popped out from nowhere and the next thing you know there’s MEEP MEEP all over our Social Media feeds. Jacob is full of passion, drive and positivity. His work is stunning (check him out here). Jim is super pumped to have this young punk along for the ride and know he’ll add heaps to the workshop.
Who; For photographers just getting started into weddings and for those that are established, but want to build on what they know and develop some fresh ideas and processes. It’s going to be informal so numbers are restricted.
Cost; US$500 through Paypal. Places are only reserved upon full payment, this is non refundable but can be transferred to another attendee.
Location; Venue TBA, but somewhere around Breckenridge, Summit County, Colorado
Getting there; Up to the attendees. You’ll need a car/carpool for sure. Nearest International Airport is Denver (1hour 50 mins drive).
Accommodation; Not included. Heaps of options around Summit County and Breckenridge.
Food; Morning and afternoon coffee/tea, and a light lunch on the 18th is provided. We will all head out for a feed and some drinks on Monday evening (at your own cost).
